Nina
puerto vallarta, mexico, january 2004

when i turned to 'focus' on him, this little boy ran into the only bushes in the square. i had to wait patiently for curiousity to cause him to pop his head out to see if i was still there.

Juan
puerto vallarta, mexico, january 2004

juan was a friend and a brilliant musician. one evening he took us out to several bars. he could get in without waiting in line because he was so well known. very early in the morning he took us out for authentic mexican fare. we were the only non-mexicans there.

Paul
winnipeg, manitoba, spring 2003

paul is a great friend who has been working with me on a recording of my material. we have been working on it now for more than four years. really, it's just an excuse to get together for strong coffee and great conversation (obviously after the coffee has kicked in).

Craig
winnipeg, manitoba, spring 2003

craig is a great friend who teaches me about faith and living every time we get together. he is a commercial artist. he does a very funny and insightful comic strip that has yet to be syndicated. he has also written a couple novels.

Old Lady
puerto vallarta, mexico, january 2004

this sweet old lady was selling cucumbers that were salted and covered with lemon juice, wrapped in z-lock bags and sold on the street. nothing tastes better on a hot day on a bus ride home than lemon drenched cucumbers prepared by an old lady.
